Wednesday, January 16, 2013
1:30-4:30 PM, 1-232 Nils Hasselmo Hall (lower level)
University of MN, Twin Cities East Bank Campus

This session is offered by the Characterization Facility (CharFac) and complements the morning's Prediction of Biodegradable Materials Performance Workshop.

Prospective IPrime members interested in attending an IPrime event as an invited guest should contact Bob Lewis, ph: 612-625-1269.

Description
Director Greg Haugstad and staff scientists will offer a set of demonstrations utilizing atomic-force and electron microscopy will examine bio-relevant coatings in aqueous or variable-humidity/temperature environments. Role of aqueous medium, interfacial interactions, swelling, glass transition, and more will be examined with cutting-edge techniques (e.g., cryogenic EM, force-curve mapping AFM).

To Attend
Register by January 7 to ensure a name tag. This event is free and open to IPrime member companies, invited guests, MN Microscopy Society members, and University of Minnesota faculty, students, and staff.

Prospective IPrime members interested in attending an IPrime event as a guest should contact Bob Lewis, ph: 612-625-1269.
