Synthetic Ecology Symposium April 2011

The University of Minnesota Biocatalysis Initiative will sponsor a Synthetic Ecology Symposium on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at the McNamara Alumni Center on the Minneapolis Campus.

IPrime's Biocatalysis and Biosynthesis program faculty members, Michael Sadowsky, Claudia Schmidt Dannert and Larry Wackett, will participate.

The University of Minnesota Biocatalysis Initiative was created to focus and fund research in the areas of industrial biocatalysis and chemical biotechnology - biological processes which promise a safer and more sustainable future.

The Synthetic Ecology Symposium will explore development and use of self-organizing, interactive, multiple, microbial and multimolecular partners for tailored biocatalytic processes across multiple scales. Applications include the microbial production of biofuels, synthons for green technologies, and bioremediation systems.
